Survival of the Fittest...

I started feeling bad on January 2nd. I caught a cold, by January 8th, I had to go to the doctor for antibiotics. I went on a trip where my stomach finally gave in to the Eastern side of the hemisphere and I had diarrhea the entire trip. I returned for 2 days of normal living when I started throwing up everything I ate. I went to another doctor. She gave me medicine for acidity, fever, aches and pains from fever. I've been on a boiled potato and dry toast diet for a week. I introduced boiled apples and I got heart burn. I tried dal and rice and threw up again. I'm back on potatoes, toast and harlick which is a malt protein powder. I feel weak. I feel as if I'm fighting a loosing battle. I am grateful to have food to eat; I'm not complaining, I'm just stating a fact. I want some color in my diet!

I WILL beat this thing that is causing me troubles. I will continue my studies even though my brain and heart are not into it. I will survive.

How many vegetables can you find?

Better

I feel so much better today. Close call on loosing it but I made it through the stomach switch from West to East. What an ordeal that was (is). I realized today that most Indian's carry stomach medicine with them. If they have stomach problems then it would make sense that I too will have stomach problems from time to time. At least I know what medicines to keep on me now. Thanks Jesus!

Vasant Panchami

Vasant Panchami, sometimes referred to as Basant Panchami or Shree Panchami is a Hindu festival celebrating Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, music and art. It is celebrated every year on the fifth day (Panchami) of the Indian month Magh (January-February), the first day of spring. Traditionally during this festival children are taught to write their first words; brahmins are fed; and most educational institutions organise special prayer for Saraswati. The color yellow also plays an important role in this festival, in that people usually wear yellow garments, Saraswati is worshipped dressed in yellow, and yellow sweets are consumed within the families.

Manali and back

I won't write about the next few days in detail. I was sick, I got better, we made it home...finally. It was a good trip. I learned a lot about myself, India and I pray that the next trip I take in India I am well and I'm able to enjoy even more.
